The Reverend Soammes F. Williams serves as an Associate Minister at the Metropolitan Baptist Church (MBC) in Largo, MD, where he works diligently as a teacher and mentor for the “Mighty Men’s Ministry.” It was at MBC that he answered the call to teach and preach the Gospel. He was ordained in 2006.
Rev. Williams is passionate about studying and understanding the Word of God, as evident to all who hear him preach and teach. He is known for sermons that reflect his passion for study and the application of God’s Word in our lives.
A graduate of the business administration program at William Paterson University, Wayne N.J., Rev. Williams later attended the Howard University School of Divinity (HUSD), where he received the Master of Divinity degree.
While attending HUSD, he served as a ministerial intern at Harvest Evangel Christian Ministries in Temple Hills, Maryland.
He went on to serve for seven years as the second Pastor of The First New Horizon Baptist Church (TFNHBC) in Clinton, Maryland. TFNHBC is affiliated with the DC Baptist Convention, where Rev. Williams served on the Advisory Committee on Ordination.
Rev. Williams recently retired after serving the people of the District of Columbia for many years as an Information Technology Specialist for the DC Department of Behavioral Health.
